Jack Johnson Helps Us Build A Greener World
“Hello, Green Schools Initiative? I’m calling to see if you can come to our school
and help us figure out how to go green.”
We get phone calls and emails like this every day from schools all over the country. From Compton to Vallejo in California, from charter schools to large districts, from Michigan to Hawai’i, calls for our services, support and trainings are multiplying. Help us reach more schools - Donate today and your gift will be matched!
We are so excited that more and more schools - like yours - want to save money, protect children’s health, and engage students in powerful hands-on learning by reducing the environmental footprint of their schools!
To meet these growing needs, we have to grow ourselves, since we are a small organization working to meet your needs. And musician Jack Johnson is going to give us a hand.
In addition to making great music, he's out to change the world.
Green Schools Initiative is honored to be teaming up with the Johnson Ohana Foundation and All At Once, a social action network connecting nonprofits with people who want to be active in their local and world community.
Jack is donating 100% of the profits from his From Here To Now To You tour through matching grants to environmental non-profits like Green Schools Initiative, and is featuring local organizations at each of his concerts.
The Johnson Ohana Foundation will match donations we receive up to a total of $2,500 through September 2, 2014. So if you've been planning to support our work, now is the time! Donate to Green Schools Initiative by September 2, 2014 - every bit helps - $5, $10, $25 or more! Important: Enter "All At Once" in the Matching Gift box on our donation page.
Your tax-deductible gift will support our work to:
- train more parents, teachers, and school staff for free
- establish Green Teams at more schools
- keep supplying our members with a free e-newsletter containing information about grants, money-saving ideas, inspiring school profiles, and lesson plans; and
- roll-out a new online Zero Waste School Events Toolkit
And if you come to Jack's concert at The Greek Theater in Berkeley on August 26, 2014, please stop by our booth!
