Organize to Pass a School Board Resolution

Create a Blueprint for a Healthy and Sustainable School.

You can work with parents, students, teachers, principals, district staff, school board members and advocacy groups to get your local school board to pass a framework resolution promoting sustainable and healthy schools. Other ideas for action are listed to the right.

By organizing around a school board resolution, disparate local groups working on issues from pesticides in schools to environmental education can join forces and work together, both to get the resolution passed, and then to implement it.

A school board resolution can help eliminate toxic threats to children’s health.  And it can provide a road map to help guide future decisions, whether they have to do with what kind of new bus fleet to purchase, criteria for new building design, school remodels,  how to create an economically viable, nutritious school lunch program and more.

Please let us know about your efforts to organize a school board resolution. Learn more about what other school districts are doing under “Latest News.”
