The Green Schools National Network has confirmed the exciting news that U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will give a keynote address at the 2nd Annual National Green Schools Conference in Denver in February, 2012. Secretary Duncan's appearance is being billed as a landmark event -- the Green Schools Movement has arrived! -- and conference organizers look forward to congratulating and thanking him for his leadership in establishing the new U.S. Department of Education Green Ribbon Schools Award program.
Secretary Duncan will talk about his commitment to "encourage all of our nation's schools and communities to work towards a future where school facilities have no adverse environmental impact, have a positive effect on students' health, and enable students to become environmentally literate citizens who are well prepared for the 21st century economy."
